Due to the long lifetime and high charge mobility of charges in CH3NH3PbI3 perovskites, this type of materials have been explored for improving the efficiencies of solar cells. It is conceivable that these properties should be specific to crystalline orientation. This work studies the impact of covalently attached alkyl ammonium anchor on the orientational growth of CH3NH3PbI3 and cell performance. We will present X-ray diffraction patterns of CH3NH3PbI3 perovskites grown on alkyl and alkyl ammonium modified TiO2 scaffolds. The charge lifetimes and cell I-V characteristics of the peroskite solar cells assembled in both ways will be compared. This will provide some insight into the orientation (isotropy) of charge mobility in the perovskite materials.
