Xenortide B, a natural product isolated from bacteria, Xenorhabdus nematophila, is a simple variant of tripeptide that has diverse array of biological activities, such as anti-bacteria, anti-fungal and anti-malaria. There is a need and urgency in developing new compounds due to the rise of multidrug resistance. Here we present the total synthesis and biological evaluation of tryptamide derivatives.
