The past few years have seen significant changes regarding what can be patented.  The U.S. Supreme Court and Federal Circuit cases have changed the legal landscape of what claims are patentable and what patents valid.  These cases leave researchers and chemical business owners and managers in a quandry regarding what is the best strategy for intellectual property protection.  This presentation will provide a framework for evaluating what IP protection is best suited for different technologies and what should be considered during research to evaluate IP protection.
