Three cationic square planar Pt(II) oxime complexes form crystals that contain close metallophilic interactions. All these complexes change from (yellow-orange-brown) to pink, blue, green, or purple depending on temperature or on addition of certain organic solvents or anions. This versatility suggests that these complexes could be used as temperature indicators or as sensors for solvents and anions.
