In order to teach students how to effectively communicate chemistry as well as promote the importance of chemistry among members of the general public, infographics describing the chemistry behind every day events, objects, and observations were created. Internship students identified and researched topics of interest. In combination with writing a short research paper, each student created an infographic summarizing the technical chemistry in terms and figures that a nonscientist could understand and appreciate. This presentation will discuss the process and results of teaching students to create infographics and communicate that information to a more diverse audience.
