The discovery of two biologically active fatty acid amides, anandamide and cis-oleamide, stimulated interest in synthesis of fatty acid amides as potential anti-inflammatory alternatives to traditional NSAIDs. This study focuses on synthesis of a family of fatty acid ester polyamide analogs, with the emphasis on biologically relevant polyamine backbones. We have deviated from the idea of synthesizing fatty acid amides from mono-amine backbones, with anticipation that multiple amide linkages would enhance the expected biological activity of the proposed synthetic analogs. This notion relates to the widely applied strategy of producing drugs with multiple payloads of active drug on a single backbone with several functional domains.<br/>
