Triazine dendrimers have been synthesized using the two-atom linker hydrazine. This general scaffold has been elaborated to construct a library of macromolecules on the multi-gram scale requiring only simple purification methods. These molecules contain a high nitrogen to carbon ratio and exhibit a reversible, pH dependent, color formation upon introduction to a solution of a strong base. Our continued efforts to construct, characterize, and understand the properties of these molecules will be described, including several crystal structures obtained through single crystal X-ray diffraction.
