The reactivity of both (POCOP)Ir(CO) and (POCOP)Rh(CO) has been well documented, but the analogous first row complex, (POCOP)Co(CO), has yet to be isolated or investigated. The preparation and characterization of this compound will be discussed and reactivity compared to the heavier group 9 counterparts. Additionally, a rare example of a pair of crystallographically characterized (pincer)Co<sup>I</sup> mono and di-carbonyl complexes will be presented.
