Graphyne (GY) that is composed of sp<sup>2</sup>-bonded benzene rings connected by sp bonded acetylene bonds is one of interesting 2D one-atom-thick planar carbon sheets with similar structure like graphene. Graphene is not proper for the use of channel material of transistor with poor on/off ratio due to zero-band gap even though it has a high mobility. On the other hand, GY has band gap in 1~2 eV, so exhibiting electrical properties for semiconducting characteristics. Here, we like to present the field effect transistor (FET) of GY prepared by metal catalyzed organic synthesis method. This new 2D material shows high on/off current ratio and small subthreshold swing, leading to good FET performance.
