Hollow SnO2@Co3O4 heterostructure nanotubes have been synthesised by electrospinning and subsequent calcination. The structure and properties of heterostructure nanotubes were uniform diameter and hollow structure. The as-synthesized SnO2@Co3O4 heterostructure nanotubes have been applied as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries, which exhibit excellent cyclic performance and enhanced power capability. Both SnO2 and Co3O4 are electrochemically active materials, and the hybridization of Co3O4 and SnO2 into an integrated heterostructure nanotubes makes them an elegant synergistic effect when participating in the lithium-ion charge-discharge process. In addition,The hollow structure has good volume buffering effect and high electronic conductivity, which may be responsible for the improved electrochemical performance. Benefiting from SnO2@Co3O4 heterostructure nanotubes material. These unique well-designed electrodes exhibit an excellent cycling stability ( 891 mAh g-1 at a current density of 100 mA g-1 after 200 cycles), a good rate capability ( 406 mAh g-1 at a current density of 1000 mA g-1), The superior electro-chemical performances could be attributed to the synergistic effect of unique hollow SnO2@Co3O4 heterostructure nanotubes structure and large surface-, which facilitate the electron transportation and buffer the large volume change.
