Physical aging in trimethylsiloxy-terminated poly(dimethylsiloxane) (MW = 1250 g/mol, Tg = 141.9 K) was studied through measurement of enthalpy relaxation using differential scanning calorimetry. The material was aged at 128 K, 133 K, and 138 K for various lengths of time up to 4.5 hours. After aging 4.5 hours at these temperatures, the total enthalpy relaxation magnitudes were found to be 4×10-4 J/g, 1.0 J/g, and 0.7 J/g at aging temperatures of 128, 133, and 138 K respectively. The sample aged at 138 K completed aging within 45 min, whereas the sample aged at 133 K showed clear evidence of continuous aging over the full 4.5 hours.
