This poster will disclose a small scale (&lt;0.05 mmole) electrochemical trifluoromethylation based on substantial modifications to the literature gram scale procedure. Key to the miniaturization was using a significantly simplified cell configuration, a safer electrolyte and an alternative trifluoromethyl radical source. Examples of trifluoromethylation of drug compounds, late stage pharmaceutical intermediates, and heterocyclic monomers will be presented.
