Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the world, with over 13 million cases diagnosed annually in the US. One of every three cancers diagnosed, is a skin cancer, causing to approximately 65,200 direct deaths. About 90 percent of non-melanoma skin cancers and about 86 percent of melanomas are associated with exposure to ultra violet (UV) radiation from the sun, and also 90 percent of skin maturing signs are correlated to UV exposure. The skin cancer prevention guidelines includes, avoiding sun exposure, covering up, and wearing broad spectrum sunscreens. Sunscreens are important part of photo-protection, and although advances in technology have occurred, sunscreens still remain limited, stems from several of reasons as: lack of deep UVA protection, poor photo-stability, challenging formulation capabilities, and negative tactile effects. There is an urgent need for broad spectrum, including UVA protection, stable, and more potent formulation UV protection.
