trans-2-Amino-cyclohexanol derivatives have been successful models for the pH-triggered conformational switches. By changing the structure of amino-group, one can adjust a pH-range in which a conformational switch occurs. To further expand the variety of potential pH-triggers, we synthesized for the first time a series of trans-2-(1,2,3-triazolyl)-cyclohexanols and 1,2,3-triazolyl-cyclohexanes by a “click reaction” of the corresponding azides and alkynes, and evaluated the conformational equilibria by 1H NMR spectroscopy.
