We use transient polymer networks (PVA/Borax system) to produce foams that are highly stable over several weeks. In these foams the gravity induced drainage flow is controled by both the interfacial and bulk viscosities as the cross-linker molecules bond the polymer chains adsorbed at air-water interfaces and those in the bulk. I will show that the rheological properties of the foams control the foaming process and how much foam can be produced. Finally I will show that gelified foams can be used to quickly absorb liquids hence they can serve for decontamination.
