MFI nanosheet zeolites with different Si/Al molar ratios were synthesized with a diquaternary ammonium surfactant containing a hydrophobic tail. Their catalytic activities in catalytic cracking of tricyclo [5.2.1.0<sup>2.6</sup>] decane (JP-10) and <i>n</i>-decane were determined. The nanosheet zeolites consist of thin sheets limited in growth in the b-direction and exhibit higher catalytic reactivity and better stability than a reference conventional HZSM-5 zeolites. The presence of mesopores in nanosheet zeolites and the large amount of Bronsted acid sites effectively increased the selectivity for aromatic products. Further, MFI nanosheet zeolites demonstrated better time-on-stream stability, that is, higher coke tolerance for the catalytic cracking of hydrocarbons, which is attributed to the synergy of high external surface, fully accessible channel intersections acid sites, and hierarchical porosity for bulky reactant to react.
