Using an electrocatalytic amplification method with a Pd microelectrode(UME) detected to single Pt nanoparticle collision on an electrode surface. The detection of single Pt NP collisions are not a preferred to Pd material for UMEs, because Pd shows alike electrocatalytic activity against Pt for hydrazine oxidation, so resulting in a high background current level. However, a Pt NP colliding on the Pd UME shows largely enhanced activity against a Pt NP on an inert UME, like a Au UME, which is usually used to detect of single Pt NP collisions. The use of an electroactive UME material rather than an inert one promoted the study of single NP activity on the abundant solid supports, which is important in more than a few applications.<br/>
