Lead chalcogenide quantum dots (QDs) have been researched for their optoelectronic applications due to their low-cost solution processability and size-tunable optical properties. Due to the large surface area to volume ratio of QDs, using synthesis techniques that result in different surface passivation has a large influence over the properties of QDs. In this work we use a standard QD sample for measurements between groups at many institutions in order to provide a starting point for comparing new synthetic routes and passivation techniques. We measure mobility and lifetime in films of lead chalcogenide QDs using many techniques including: time-resolved microwave conductivity, photoluminescence spectroscopy (time and temperature resolved), transient photocurrent spectroscopy, and field effect transistors. We also analyze the chemical composition of the QDs to build a complete picture of the sample, from the elemental makeup to the photophysical properties.
