The blooming development of wearable device has rocketed the research of miniaturized supercapacitor as one of the signgificant energy storage devices. In-plane micro-supercapacitors are superior to sandwich structure in terms of better compatibility, thus showing the great potency in electronics integration system. In this work, the cost-effective inkjet printing method was adopted to fabricate interdigitated silver electrode arrays on flexible substrates, followed by electrochemical deposition to construct the hierarchical Nickel (Ni)@Manganese dioxide (MnO2) dendritic structure as pseudocapacitor electrode. The as-built all solid-state pseudocapacitor device achieves an areal capacitance of 52.9 mF cm-2 at a scan rate of 5 mV s-1 and 50.1 mF cm-2 at a current density of 0.54mA cm-2,and such value is among the highest as compared with previously report. More interestingly, the concept of pseudocapacitor artistic design was demonstrated in this work. With smart device design, the ‘Mona Lisa’ pseudocapacitor has marginal performance degradation during the bending test, proving its excellent flexibility, while the ‘Monkey King’ pattern successfully powers LEDs. With the merits of facile fabrication process, unique pseudocapacitor structure, largely enhanced electrochemical performance in company with the smart artistic pattern design, such in plane micro-supercapacitors are highly promising for implement as energy storage device in a wide range of micro electronic systems.
