The Northeastern University Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society (NUSAACS) has made it a goal this year to emphasize and show that chemistry is an interdisciplinary subject that should be shared. We work with several other science clubs to plan and hold cross-disciplinary events where students in the sciences can appreciate the big picture of the field. We also host speakers from many disciplines to show chemistry students the many different paths their degrees can take them. Members also engage in community service with both our Northeastern University and greater Boston communities to teach others about chemistry and the sciences. These demonstrations and presentations are designed to appeal to non-science students, with the goal that all students can apply chemistry and science to their life. Finally we share our knowledge and continue to educate our members by engaging with other local student chapters of the ACS. This provides an opportunity for collaboration and networking. The purpose of this poster is to present the initiatives NUSAACS has taken to engage our members, campus and community, and show that the field of chemistry is relevant to members of all our many different communities.
