We demoestrated the synthesis to decorate organolead bromide perovskite nanoparticles (NPs) on graphitic carbon nitride sheets to form CH3NH3PbBr3/g-C3N4 nanoheterostructure for the first time. The intrinsic type II band structure of CH3NH3PbBr3/g-C3N4 resulted in a significant charge separation, which was a great benefit to apply in the related photoelectrical conversion and the photocatalytic system. The interfacial charge transfer behavior of CH3NH3PbBr3/g-C3N4 was qualitative and quantitative analysis through time-resolved photoluminescence (TRPL) spectroscopy. The results indicated that the interfacial charge carrier dynamics of CH3NH3PbBr3/g-C3N4 can be modulate by controlling the related composition. The maximum charge transfer rate constant (ket) of was discovered when the ratio of CH3NH3PbBr3/g-C3N4 was 1:1, which revealed that the optimized CH3NH3PbBr3/g-C3N4 nanoheterostructure exhibited the remarkable electron-hole pair separation property. Consequently, we practical utilized CH3NH3PbBr3/g-C3N4 nanoheterostructure as the photocatalyst to carry out the photocatalytic CO2 reduction and further analyzed the resulted products by gas chromatographic (GC). The characterization results showed the products were CO and CH4 after 24hrs Xe lamp irradiation when present CH3NH3PbBr3/g-C3N4 nanoheterostructure in the airtight chamber filled with CO2. The type II CH3NH3PbBr3/g-C3N4 nanoheterostructures represented a great potential to capture solar energy and convert it into chemical energy for CO2 reduction. More importantly, the present investigation opens a new field for organolead halide perovskite in the application of photocatalysis and the related photoelectrical conversions.
