Complex lithium oxide materials, such as Li7La3Zr2O12, Li5La3Ta2O12, Li0.33La0.55TiO3, Li1.5Al0.5G3e1.5P3O12, and Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7P3O12, have been found to have relatively high ionic conductivity, and hence there is much interest in these compounds as solid electrolytes in all solid state lithium ion batteries. The ionic conductivity of powders of these materials, both before and after annealing at high temperatures, are the object of this study. The pressure dependent ionic conductivity of these materials before and after annealing will be investigated by using ac impedance spectroscopy. X-ray diffraction will be used to determine any changes in crystallinity after annealing and after application of high pressures. The affect that pressure has on grain boundary conduction will be discussed.
