SciData (http://stuchalk.github.io/scidata/) is a data model for representation of any type of scientific data in a generic, semantic format.  In order to evaluate the capabilities of SciData and understand potential gaps, inconsistencies, or failings, data from the NIST Heat Transmission Properties of Insulating and Building Materials (SRD 81 https://srdata.nist.gov/insulation) was downloaded and converted into SciData format.<br/> <br/>Data was obtained via the SRD 81 API (https://srdata.nist.gov/insulation/api/) and cross-walked to fields in a MySQL database for ingestion.  A comprehensive analysis of the available data and metadata was performed and mapped to the SciData framework to identify data what did not fit in the format and/or what data required an ontology for integration into the framework.<br/> <br/>This poster outlines that above process in detail, including development of the data crosswalk and mapping, and highlights the changes needed in the SciData data model in order to accommodate the dataset.  Efforts to integrate chemical property data, standard method metadata, and materials data from other sources with the NIST data will also be presented.
