In March 2009, MIT faculty passed one of the country’s first open access policies, and MIT Libraries was asked to implement and administer the policy. This presentation will concentrate on two recent developments at the MIT Libraries: the motivation to incorporate our collection budget into the scholarly communication program, and how the recently released preliminary report of Institute-wide Task Force on the Future of Libraries https://future-of-libraries.mit.edu/ might impact on MIT OA policy
