The Division of Professional Relations Minority Affairs Subdivision was founded ten years ago to advance the professional development of minority scientists and engineers in the chemical enterprise. Specifically, the subdivision sought to provide relevant programming at regional and national ACS meetings; and increase the number of people of color that are engaged in ACS activities, as members and leaders, at all levels of governance. The subdivision initially worked with the Committee on Minority Affairs on programming. As it grew, the subdivision partnered with other committees and subdivisions to provide national meeting programming and mentoring opportunities for minority chemists at ACS meetings.  Recent programming has focused on highlighting leadership of effective undergraduate research programs that engage the next generation of chemists and chemical engineers. The subdivision has also contributed to professional development for women of color and symposia highlighting empirical research on persons of color.  Collectively, these activities will be disseminated in this presentation.
