Nanostructured materials are important to promoting the development and utilization of clean, efficient, and reliable energy resources. It is essential to understand the relationships between the atomic and nanoscale structure of metal nanoparticles and catalyst supports and the crucial role these play in promoting or altering chemical and catalytic pathways. The key focus of this talk lies in the controlled synthesis of porous oxides and metallic catalysts with unique metal-support interactions and nanostructured cooperativities for energy-related applications.
