1,3,4-Oxadiazoles are an important class of compounds that exhibit wide-ranging application. These compounds have been used to develop novel therapeutics showing antibacterial, antitubercular, and antimitotic activity. The research described in this project focuses on the design and synthesis of oxadiazoles from hydrazides and carboxylic acids and their derivatives. Furthermore, the biological activity of these compounds were explored and their application to an undergraduate organic laboratory course determined.
