We have developed an educational model for K-Lifelong learners for place-based climate science literacy that can be applied across different content areas. Costa Rica serves as one of our model laboratories for place-based climate science in context. This presentation focuses on the high school level.  An up to date “top ten” list of climate change data sets will be provided to scaffold climate literacy background information for classroom teachers, followed by resources and a lesson plan for a chemistry activity on climate change relating to challenges faced in the Costa Rican ecosystem. This activity will engage students as they evaluate resources, make a claim, and then analyze the evidence to support their reasoning. Teacher participants will leave the presentation with a classroom ready activity and ideas for expanding our model into other place-based destinations and content areas.<br/>
