This presentation will focus on what faculty can do to create an environment in their courses that emphasizes learning how to learn and helps their students acquire metacognitve skills. The topics to be discussed include:<br/>How can metacognition be promoted in lectures or in other pedagogies such as PLTL, POGIL, or PBL?<br/>How can metacognitive skills be integrated into learning outcomes statements?<br/>How can metacognitve skills be assessed?<br/>How is instructor metacognition different from student metacognition?
