A methodology is developed for electronic structure calculations that automatically identifies and labels quasi-atomic orbitals. This method uses the quantitative features of the quasi-atomic orbitals that are embedded in the molecular wave function. The overall label algorithm is summarized, and through applications to a number of different molecules, the method is shown to be practical.
