Metal-containing polyethers and polyamine esters have been synthesized employing the interfacial polymerization process using commercially available reactants. The polyethers were synthesized from reaction of the antiviral lamivudine with various organotin dihalides. The polyamide esters were synthesized from reaction of the dipeptide diglycine with various organotin dihalides. In both cases, yield increases as the organotin alkyl chain length increases in length. The products are polymeric with no correlation between yield and chain length for the diglycine products, but for the lamivudine products there is decrease in product chain length as the organotin alkyl chain length increases. Reaction is rapid occurring within 5 seconds stirring time.
