Energy is the back bone of economy. Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) is the auspicious technology for the green energy from biological waste material. The high cost of electrocatalytic conversion of materials with time and intricate fabrication methods are major encumbrance in practical application of MFCs for commercialization. In this study, we emphasize on cost-effective material and investigate the morphological and electrochemical properties of cathode catalysts for MFCs. The inexpensive materials exhibit excellent electrocatalytic activity for oxygen reduction reaction, good durability, and great efficiency compared to traditional precious metal catalysts.
