High valent nickel species (ie, Ni(III) and Ni(IV) complexes) have been proposed as transient intermediates in a number of Ni-catalyzed reactions. This presentation will describe our recent progress in the synthesis of high valent Ni model complexes and studes of their often unique reactivity.
