In January, 2017, the USEPA published three proposed rules in the Federal Register for the purpose of taking public comment.  The rules addressed procedures to update the TSCA inventory, prioritize existing chemicals for risk evaluation, and conduct risk evaluations.  Public comment on the rules ended on March 20, 2017. The rules must be finalized June 22, 2017.  This presentation will provide a brief overview of the content of the final Prioritization and Risk Evaluation rules, highlighting new statutory requirements and procedures EPA will use in evaluating risks of existing chemicals and the timeframes for specific steps in the prioritization and risk evaluation processes.
