The Center for Enabling New Technologies Through Catalysis (CENTC) conducts collaborative research to discover and develop catalysts to enable implementation of new processes for efficient, environmentally responsible production of chemicals and fuels from a variety of feedstocks. CENTC research goals are associated with topics of broad public interest making it well suited to public outreach. It is important for scientists to educate the public about the relevance of research to society, but they are often ill equipped to effectively explain their work to the lay public. Science centers are also interested in conveying current research to their visitors, but lack the scientific expertise to ensure accuracy in their projects. Thus it makes sense for scientists and science centers to collaborate and utilize their complementary skills to communicate up-to-date research efforts effectively to the general public. We will present the highlights of CENTC’s collaborations with two science centers, the Pacific Science Center and Liberty Science Center.<br/>
