A polymer’s dispersity reflects the ratio of its weight average and number average molecular weights (Mw and Mn, respectively). However, dispersity does not thoroughly describe the distribution of polymer molar masses in a sample. We hypothesize that changes in the composition of this distribution will influence material properties. This presentation will detail a modular approach for controlling the composition and shape of polymer molecular weight distributions using temporally controlled initiation. This method provides simple access to new materials and allows for the relationship between molecular weight distribution and polymer properties to be investigated.
