Aniline, as the prototypical aromatic amine, is broadly used both industrially and academically. Current industrial method of aniline production starts from nitrobenzene, which is produced by nitration of benzene. Our study focused on finding a pathway to form aniline directly from benzene in a single step reaction. In this work, we used Vanadium(V) and Fe(III) co-catalyst to catalyze aniline formation reaction starting from benzene and hydroxylamine.
