Lab automation systems for high through-put applications are significantly exploited in the field of R&D and in manufacturing processes in pharmaceutical and bio-pharmaceutical industries.  Lab automation is helpful to increase high through-put productivity, eliminate human errors introduced into repetitive laboratory tasks such as multi-plating pipetting, improve accuracy and precision of addition of reagents, thus providing reliable data with integrity. The disadvantage is mastery of scripting code for robotic manipulations and the limit of integration of scientific experimental manipulations. Two different cell lines PA-1 (human epithelial ovary teratocarcinoma, adhering cells) and CHO (Chinese hamster ovary, floating cells) cell lines at their log phases were evaluated. In these assays the tasks of adding MTT reagent and either dmso or detergent were performed both manually and by a Multispan robot and the data was compared. The data suggests that the robotic manipulations provided enhanced precision that can facilitate the implementation of automated platforms for regulatory studies. In summary the project was initiated to incorporate innovative technologies that help in assisting laboratory tasks and to understand the way the various cells lines samples are robotically processed and the resulting data quality for well scripted manipulations. This work is a regulatory science tool to support the implementation of bioassay methods used for monitoring the manufacturing of biopharmaceutics.<br/>
