Remarkable progress in controlled polymerization makes it possible to build macromolecules with controlled size, architecture, composition and functionality.<br/>We have recently prepared, by a straightforward RAFT emulsion polymerization technology, latexes of designed hydrosoluble nanoreactors, synthetized which which consist of a hydrophilic shell and a cross-linked hydrophobic core containing covalently anchored phosphines (mono and bidendate), which offer the possibility of catalyst immobilization for facile recovery and recycling.<sup> </sup>We will present the synthesis, the core swelling capacity by organic compounds and the coordination chemistry of rhodium and iridium precatalysts inside the nanoreactor cores. The mechanism of a facile interparticle metal migration has been elucidated by NMR and DLS studies. The application of these catalytic nanoreactors to hydroformylation and hydrogenation reactions under aqueous biphasic conditions will also be presented.
