In this lecture I will detail our continuing efforts on the formation of electroactive and conducting transition metal/carbon nanotube materials.  These systems include the use of the redox active metal centers that can be activated by changes in the Fermi-levels of the conductive carbon nanotube scaffolds.  The nature of the connection to the carbon nanotubes will also be discussed.  Other physical assemblies will also be discussed wherein transition metals are organized into polymers or self-assembled networks around the carbon nanotubes.  Additionally I will present on new concepts on how selective catalytic chemistry can be translated to produce selective sensor responses.
