The development of metal-catalyzed C–N and C–O bond formation has had a profound impact on organic synthesis. In this lecture we will explore radical reaction with nitroso compounds as a general approach to the construction of C–N and C–O bonds, as well as N–O heterocycles. This process uses earth abundant copper catalyst and mild reaction conditions, allowing access to a variety of important building blocks.
