Chemical warfare is a growing field of concern that necessitates increased attention to determine how to efficiently detect and destroy toxic nerve agents, such as sarin and VX gas. There is an immediate need to develop fast, sensitive, and field-deployable materials capable of destroying chemical warfare agents. Metal organic frameworks are a class of crystalline molecules that contain metal ions and organic linkers. Their porosity and large surface areas make them ideal for catalytic reactions with nerve agents. Research shows that the highly porous nature and the strong chemical stability of MOFs render them extremely effective in the absorption and neutralization of Chemical Warfare Agents (CWAs). Modifications will be made to the structure of the NU-1000 MOF in order to enhance the efficiency of the molecule for neutralizing the chemical nerve agents.<br/>
