A new method for rhodium catalyzed allylic C–H amination proceeding through π-allyl intermediates is described. Specifically, we have developed conditions for the regioselective allylic amination of electronically diverse, disubstituted olefins. A range of common nitrogen nucleophiles bearing a single electron-withdrawing group can be utilized under mild oxidative conditions.
