Inhibition of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway can result in an antiangiogenic effect.  This effect is of interest for the treatment of retinal diseases including wet age related macular degeneration.  We have previously disclosed the discovery of oral PI3K inhibitors for the treatment of cancer.  This presentation will discuss factors considered in designing small molecule PI3K inhibitors for intravitreal injection before presenting in vitro and in vivo assessments of them. <br/>
