Ouachita Baptist University is a private liberal arts institution with approximately 1500 students. In the chemistry department, we strive to introduce the students, both majors and non-majors, to real-world, interdisciplinary chemistry topics. The Honors Program at OBU aids in this endeavor by offering interdisciplinary seminar courses, co-taught by 2-3 instructors from different fields. One of the requirements to graduate with Honors is the successful completion of two Honors seminar courses. These classes are favorites among both the students and the faculty who teach them. This semester, Dr. Hubbard (Chemistry) and Dr. Douglass (Philosophy) are offering a seminar on the Science and Philosophy (Sci Phi) of the <i>Dr. Who</i> television series. A wide variety of topics are covered in this course, including the nature of time, space travel, ethics, and psychological identity.
