The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology chapter of ACS actively supports the chemical sciences on campus and in the community by organizing outreach and professional development events. At such outreach events, chemical demonstrations were held for elementary, middle, and high school science classes and reached over 1000 students. These events were arranged to correspond with chemically significant days, such as National Chemistry Week and Engineering Week. The SDSM&T chapter of ACS also focused on increasing membership and to provide more professional development opportunities to its members, having success in both areas.<br/>
