Breast cancer and cervical are the two most significant causes of death among women in the US, Peru, and around the world. This kind of cancer is affected by nutrition and natural remedies women take to get better. Consumption of vegetables may lead to a decline in breast and cervical cancer occurrence. To investigate the effect of those factors on women’s health, patients, staff, and community members in Cusco, Peru were interviewed. Survey methods were used to determine women’s nutritional habits, their lifestyle, and family history of cancer. In addition, health professionals were interviewed about the role natural remedies and nutrition play in the lives of their patients. Our results revealed that the most frequent vegetables that were brought up in the survey were potatoes, corn, and carrots. The results of the survey also showed that potatoes are the most common type of vegetable consumed for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In our attempt to discover what nutritional values Peruvian women hold, our research drives us to further investigate the specific qualities vegetables identified in the survey could have to improve women’s health.
