The reactions of an extended tritopic picolinic dihydrazide ligand with terminal oxime groups (dpocco) with lanthanide nitrate (Ln(NO3)3.xH2O) in the presence of triethylamine (TEA) and trimethylacetic acid (TMAA) result in the formation of hexanuclear complexes with carbonate (CO32-) or oxde (O2-) ions as the central species: [Ln6(dpocco)2(TMAA)10(CO3)2] (Ln = Dy, Gd, Pr, Ho, Tb, Sm) and [Er6(dpocco)2(TMAA)8(O)6. The x-ray crystal structures, spectroscopic, and magnetic properties of these complexes will be reported.
