Since the discovery in early 1990’s peptoids have come a long way to show immense potential in myriad of applications that includes antibacterials,anticancers, antitumors , anti-alzeimers to drug delivery systems etc. The emergence of peptoids from peptides has practically added an edge to the field of peptidomimetics. This study sheds light on the comparison between peptides and peptoids in terms of their catalytic activity in oxidation when interacting with biologically available metals , such as copper(II). We showed how different effect the interaction of Cu(II)-peptide or peptoid can potentially have on reducing the oxidative stress which is associated with the development of scores of diseases that includes Asperger syndrome,ADHD, cancer, Parkinson's disease, Lafora disease, Alzheimer's disease,atherosclerosis, heart failure, myocardial infarction, fragile X syndrome, Sickle Cell Disease, lichen planus, vitiligo, autism, infection, Chronic fatigue syndrome, and depression.
