N-heterocyclic amines have served as ligand scaffolds for bioinorganic model compounds, imaging agents and catalysts. The function of a ligand in this family can be modified by changing the ring size, denticity, and donor atoms. The Green Research Group has applied this knowledge to produce a new group of 12-membered, pyridine modified heterocycles. A series of new molecules with substituted pyridine groups (R=H, OH, CN, NO<sub>2</sub>) and the transition metal based derivatives will be presented. Catalytic reactivity and biological studies will also be presented.
